Have you ever wondered what it is like to take care of exotic animals? This is your chance!
Our Zookeeper for a Day program is for aspiring zookeepers ages 8 – 21 who want to learn about the daily tasks of a professional zookeeper. You’ll observe and help our keepers with tasks such as cleaning enclosures, preparing diets, grooming, and behavioral training.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about our Zookeeper for a Day program and to book your date.
IMPORTANT: We book all programs at least 48 hours in advance. We do not have the opportunity for “walk-ins” at this time. You must email in advance to book your program.

Can I go through this program with friends?
Yes! We have up to 3 spots available daily for our zookeeper for a day program. If you would like to book with friends, please note this in your email. Payment for one participant holds the spot for all 3. Payment for the other 2 participants must be made within 72 hours; after 72 hours, the date is available for any participant. No refunds are available is your friends do not sign up.
What days are available?
We have Zookeeper for the Day spots open every day of the week. Animal caretakers work 24/7/365! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check for availability of a specific day. There are three spots open daily on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not run this program on days when we have special outreach events or when the shelter is book for a private event.
We have entire group. Is that possible?
Maybe. For a family with more than 3 kids, we do offer Zookeeper for a Day programs for the entire family. In this case, at least one parent or guardian must be present to accommodate the number of kids. Please email email@example.com to speak with a Bunny Hutch representative about a custom program for your family.
If you are an organization with more than 6 people, such as a church group, club, scout troop, homeschool group, etc., we have very limited group opportunities. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more about our next group volunteer day or book our special events room to get the true zookeeper experience.
Please note… we are extremely grateful for every offer to volunteer. Due to the size of our facility and the nature of the work, however, we often do not have large projects available. We are run 100% by volunteers and interns, so organizing a large group to volunteer takes time away from our true mission – saving more animals. If you have a strong desire to help, we love when groups brainstorm their own fundraising project for The Bunny Hutch, and we are happy to support your efforts. In the past, groups have held lemonade stands, bake sales, silent auctions, and more to help us raise money! When possible, we bring Jr. to your event. Email email@example.com if you have a fundraising idea to benefit The Bunny Hutch.
