Our team of volunteers keep CLIMATES-Rescue running day and night! Volunteers help with everything from prepared food for our animals to working at events as a spokesperson. We are specifically looking for volunteers who can commit to at least one 4-8 hour shift per week.
Whether you’re 2 or 102, we need your help! We are looking for individual volunteers and family volunteers.
Every keeper here at The Bunny Hutch was once a volunteer. So, if you are looking for an internship or paid position, the best way to get your foot in the door is to volunteer.

Become an Intern
Our selective internship programs allows you to gain valuable experience working directly with animals such as rabbits, snakes, tortoises, lizards, arthropods, birds, rats… the list is endless. You’ll work directly with our animal husbandry staff to learn about behavioral training, diet, animal handling, and more. We accept applications from college students as well as recent graduates.
Interns are typically selected from within our volunteer program, so if you are interested, please download and complete our volunteer application to get started.
Donate Items
We are constantly in need of items that might be sitting unused in your home or garage! Here are some of the items we will gladly take off your hands:
Old cotton towels and sheets
Tanks, aquariums, and cages
Leftover items from home improvement projects (tiles, small pieces of granite and marble, etc.)*
Heat lamps and pads
Aquarium filters, pumps, and other equipment
Kitchen items (knives, bowls, utensils, measuring cups, etc.)
Tank and aquarium decor items
Pet supplies such as water dishes and bottles
Cardboard boxes (cereal boxes, cracker boxes, etc.) with no plastic windows
*Most people don’t realize that we can put their home improvement scraps to good use! We use small pieces of tile, granite, marble, etc. to build interesting hideouts in our tanks and aquariums. It doesn’t matter to us if your pieces are chipped our broken.
When in doubt, bring it by! You would be amazed at home we can use your old items. ?
